Bass Coast YMCA Youth Mentoring Program

Make a difference in a young persons life!

Bass Coast YMCA Youth Mentoring empowers young people in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximise their potential.

We deliver a School based Mentoring Programs which targets young people at-risk across the Bass Coast region.   For just one hour per week, adult volunteers commit to supporting, guiding and being a friend to a young person for at least one year during school hours.   By becoming part of the social network of adults and community members who care about the young person,  Mentors help to develop and achieve positive academic, career and personal goals working with year 9 students from Wonthaggi, Leongatha and Newhaven College (Phillip Island).

YMCA Youth Mentors are of all ages and come from all walks of life.   One thing they all share is a special passion and commitment to supporting young people in need.

We currently have an overwhelming number of young people from the Bass Coast region waiting to be matched with a Mentor that can assist them during a critical stage in their life!  If you think you are one of these special people that can act as a positive role model and friend to a young person, WE NEED YOU!
